These sculptures were built with a natural setting in mind for their installation. They were conceptualized as being placed in a grouping but could also be spaced intermittently along a recreational trail.
The body of work includes six large-scale steel sculptures, ranging in height from 9 to 11 feet. The sculptures weigh between 350 and 650 pounds each. Each sculpture has four welded tabs at the base to secure the piece to a concrete slab or plinth. The totem-like sculptures will develop a rusty patina over time.
Maquettes (1/6 scale models) were built in the design process. They range from 18 to 22 inches in height, not including the stands. See below for photos of the sculptures and maquettes.
